Farmers, growers or producers from within a 40 mile radius of York city centre sell their produce, direct to the public. Advantages include cutting out the “middle man”, reducing the distance that the produce has to travel to reach the consumer and giving customers the opportunity to deal direct with the producer.

·         Behind Enemy Lines Lecture – Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington –  Sat 20th

If you have ever wondered what life was really like for those airmen taken as Prisoner of War during WWII, or the harrowing exploits of those that managed to evade capture, then the forthcoming lecture taking place at the Yorkshire Air Museum on will answer all your questions.


Neil Galloway, from 90 Signals RAF Leeming, will also be discussing the recent re-enactment of the 1945 ‘Long March’ of POW’s across Poland, which was undertaken by RAF personnel from across the country.


In addition, a fantastic line up of other veterans, all either POW’s or Evaders, and all with their own amazing tales to tell has been gathered and all of the veterans will be joining in the Question and Answer session and memorabilia signing opportunity that will take place after the lunch break. Ripon Choral Society perform – Elgar The Kingdom.

Ripon Choral Society, under its conductor John Dunford and accompanist Greg Smith performs three or four concerts each year in the magnificent setting of Ripon Cathedral. The Society, with over 200 singing members, is one of the largest in Yorkshire. Lynne Dawson, Margaret Macdonald, Charne Rochford (pictured) and Jeremy White are the soloists. Beatrix Potter Easter Egg Hunt (Cumbria) 31st  March -10.00

One of the North of England’s biggest Easter Egg Hunt. 100 unique Peter Rabbit eggs will be hidden across Cumbria, thanks to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction. At 10am on 31 March 2010 a map will be unveiled on the website below giving clues and location tips to help you to find the eggs. Eggs may be be hidden in villages, gardens, by lakes or on the top of hills.

Afterwards why not let someone else do the running around, treat yourselves to an Easter Sunday Lunch in the Orangery Restaurant.
