My somewhat loopy 60’s friends looking for a themed break to take in the autumn. We like some entertainment they said over dinner, what do you have going on in October.. Inspired I said how about Basil, Sybil and the team? Perfect they said ” we promise not to mention the war ! “. They are now happily trotting off to see the Fawlty Towers Tribute evening on 24th October at Garforth near Leeds. A bargain at only £89 each including one nights stay, dinner and entertainment. The Mamma Mia film certainly has created a furor on the West End too as everyone is clamouring to see the live version on stage. “I know the film is great but there is no substitute for the energy of a live performance” the girls agreed. Lets use it as an excuse for a girlie trip to London and fit in some retail therapy too. How could I argue the logic, with hotel breaks available until April from £89 including a night in a 3* hotel and a ticket for the Mamma Mia show it would have been rude to refuse. Mamma Mia Break

Who says that romance is dead ? My chum from Cheshire rang…I see you have 5% off cottages at the mo and I fancied an energetic weekend under the duvet !! Do you have any nice one bedroom cottages within a couple of hours drive where I can get away for a long weekend and with a rather gorgeous hunky new man I have found and also save myself 5%. I fancy shag pile carpets, bare skin rugs (pun intended) a roaring log fire and lots of ……FINE I stopped her in her tracks I get the picture.

I know you might think I am mad said Lesley but I would like to take the kids to see the illuminations in Blackpool. My mum took me when I was a kid and I still remember it now… I think it is a great idea and we can put you up in our great choice of bed & breakfasts in Blackpool, so it won’t cost you the earth. My friends from the village rang …we have chance to get away for a few days without the kids and as we aren’t going to manage a summer holiday this year , we thought it would be nice to have a grown up break in Paris. My oh so loved up,soon to be married mates called me for advice. we want to go to the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham…is it as great as they say it is ? well it is certainly an experience I said, well worth a look! Great they said we want to make a weekend break of it - can you fix us up with a hotel? Actually I said a great offer has just come in today on Birmingham - the 3 star Jury’s Inn in the city centre for 2 nights from £42 inclduing breakfast - sounds fab they said “book it”.
